Once we more intelligent contact data, we can better target email content.  Many times we create customized email templates that have conditional content areas that are shown only to contacts that are interested in that content.  Further, if promoting something like an event or fundraising campaign, we can track when a contact achieves a predefined goal.  If they registered for an event, then our follow-up automation should intelligently know this and change outreach accordingly.  This purposeful design of campaigns creates value for your contacts based on their interactions and doesn’t bombard them with reminders for actions they have already taken.

Customer Journey

Once you have good list segmentation, we need to start to move contacts through a journey.  This journey moves people from limited interaction to greater levels of engagement based on interests they have and actions they have taken.  These journeys usually contain a mix of connection strategies including both automated and manual follow-up.  For instance if a large member renews or a donor makes a large donation you would want your leadership team notified to make a thank you call.
